The European Sharia Fatwa Council in London is: a voluntary organization founded by Sheikh Muhammad Rida, and the Council provides legal advice in accordance with Islamic law. and acts as a voice for women silenced through violent, abusive and forced marriage; Enabling them to achieve freedom and justice from their oppressive conditions.
Furthermore, as the recognized decision-making authority of the Muslim community, the Council provides advice on issues that affect their daily lives. Our advisory team, made up of eminent Shari'a jurists, deals with a wide range of issues that the council handles.
The Council continues to promote and encourage dialogue and cohesion within Britain and the European community. It has quickly become a prominent think tank through its deep collaboration and involvement with all sectors of society, from local businesses, schools and organisations, of which the London Fatwa Council is a regular point of contact.
Sheikh Muhammad Yazdani Rida is: a Hanafi jurist who received his primary education in the sciences of Islam under the supervision of his father, Sheikh Muhammad Rida. Having undergone a solid academic base, the Sheikh joined the university and the honorable Sheikh continued his studies in one of the most famous and respected institutions of sacred knowledge in India, the Ashrafieh Society of Mubarakpur.
The esteemed Sheikh also studied at the Al-Azhar Society, the oldest and most famous university in the Islamic world, in Cairo. While in Egypt he also studied at Alexandria University. Sheikh holds an MA in Islamic Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.
Sheikh Muhammad Reda has held the position of imam in several mosques in the United Kingdom. He continues to work diligently among both Muslims and other religious communities.
The Honorable Sheikh is involved in an advisory role on topical and related issues, to a number of prominent UK research institutions.
He has lectured both in the UK and abroad, including much of Europe, Syria, Egypt, Dubai, Bahrain, Malaysia, India, Sudan, Morocco and various countries in America and South America, among others.
